I have reviewed primarily young adult novels. I try to read 'grown up' books too, but there just aren't enough adult stories about zombies, body swapping, super powers and alien invasions. Books I give negative ratings to are a gazillion times better than all the books I 'haven't written. :) These authors are all, in their own way, 'awesome'.

Numbers (Numbers, #1) by Rachel Ward
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Not bad... Unfortunately, my knowledge of the layout of London comes from watching episodes of 'Dr. Who' and it was difficult for me to picture the layout of the land with the descriptions provided in this book.

Spider and Jem are on the run, traveling by foot and by car. I couldn't get how Tatoo just 'happened' to find them. Did they travel in a circle? Tattoo didn't strike me as a real resourceful guy. The police are after them with dogs and a helicopter, and Tattoo Face just shows up out of the blue. This story has an interesting premise but Jem's ability is never really explored. Did it run in her family ? was it spiritual ? Do other people have the ability ? These questions are never really asked or answered. I enjoyed the characters and I thought it was amusing how Spider went from a stinky boy to a love interest. And yes girls you can get pregnant your first time. :)
